Famous faces, a new instructor and the C word (sorry)

September 16, 2026•4 min read

Happy Wednesday,

I was away in Birmingham last week for the Entrepreneur Circle's National Convention. This is one of the highlights of my year, with speakers and friends from different business backgrounds and some inspirational stories.

This year we had John Volanthen who was one of the two British Cave divers that rescued the boys from the Thailand Cave, we also had Simon Squibb who you may have seen on TikTok or Instagram asking people "What's your dream?", and the delightfully funny, Alex Horne & The Horne Section for some evening entertainment.

Lots of other business growth training and socialising with my EC friends led to a very enjoyable few days. But you know this means I also come back with lots of new ideas of how to improve what we do at the studio! So watch this space!

I have also have the pleasure of welcoming a new member, Julia to our team of instructors, see below for more details.

Dianne is off in Montenegro this week and next for her son's wedding, so you will find a few variations on the teaching schedule, as other members of the team step in to cover her classes. It's always a great opportunity to learn from different instructors as we all do things with our own personal twist, so enjoy the change.

We have the first weekend of The Hertfordshire School of Pilates Student instructor assessments this Saturday and Sunday. Thank you to those of you that have volunteered to be participants in their assessment classes, I'm really looking forward to seeing them graduate as the first cohort of the school.

I'm also going to apologise for mentioning the C word in this newsletter, however I want to get in quick with our party date so you can put it in your diary and join us for our festive celebrations.

Thanks for reading.

October Event

I'm not sure if this wasn't seen in our last newsletter or that everyone is busy, however we only have 3 cakes offered to be made so far which is a little disappointing and rather worrying that we won't have enough to go round!

So I ask again, if you are able to contribute a bake of some kind for our event in just a few weeks we'd be very grateful. Just let us know by clicking on the relevant button below. There are also posters in the studio you can scan to RSVP too.

If you would like to bake something please enter your details on this form so we can avoid getting duplicate cakes.

If you would like to attend and enjoy the delicious (and hopefully plentiful) cakes and treats please register your interest below.

Festive Event (Sorry!)

I wanted to get in quick this year as so many of you already had plans in the diary last year.

Our Festive celebrations will again be held here at the studio, we're going early on Saturday, the 28th November, hopefully missing many of your other plans for the season.

Please let us know if you would like to join us, it's just a show of hands at this point, we'll be selling tickets a little closer to the date.

Please welcome our newest Team Member

Please join me in welcoming Julia to our team.

I feel very fortunate to have had Julia fall into my lap. She has many years of experience and was running her own studio (similar to ours) in Oxfordshire, until very recently when she relocated to Biggleswade.

Julia will be taking over our Wednesday evening classes, starting with the 6pm class tonight (some of you may have already spotted her name in the Momence app).

She is bright and friendly and has a very similar ethos to myself in regards to how we deliver our classes, she is also bringing her specialist knowledge in Pilates following Breast Cancer, Pelvic health and we are excited for her to be bringing some *NEW* Buff Bones™️ classes to the studio next month.

For more details on Buff Bones™️ visit https://buff-bones.com/ I think you'll agree these classes will be a brilliant addition to our timetable.

As always, thanks for reading, that's all for this week.

How to reach us:

Please note we will respond to you via the same means you contact us. If you send us a message via the Momence App, this is where our reply will go, likewise with email, text or WhatsApp.
